Corbridge Gardening Society aims to promote,
encourage and further all aspects of amateur
gardening. A friendly society with over 250
members, we have a wide range of interests: growing
vegetables and flowers, entering shows,
garden photography, visiting gardens, and learning
more about horticulture and garden history. Some members are old hands, and some are just starting out.
                      The society aims to help everyone get more out of gardens and gardening - we encourage all members to be actively involved in its running.

We have:

a series of winter evening talks in the Parish
Hall, on a variety of gardening topics;

Spring and Summer Shows, in which all members are welcome to take part;

day trips for members to special gardens,
and a garden tour to an area
of the UK;

a May Plant Sale to which members contribute
plants (proceeds help to
support the Society, and enable us to make
donations to good causes such as
Corbridge in Bloom).

Membership is open to all residents of
Corbridge and the surrounding area, and
costs £5 per year.

The photographs belowshow some of the gardens visited by CGS members in 2015, on day trips to the Lake District and the Borders, and on the society’s garden tour of East Sussex. Next year’s garden tour will be of North Wales, based in Caernarvon. Thank you to Karen Melvin and Michael Cunliffe for sharing their images with us.
